Cased pair of percussion belt pistols, cal. 16 bore (.656 in.) Made by George Richardson, Cork, Ireland, 1833.

Physical Description

Muzzle loading, smooth bore, octagonal barrel 6 in. (152 mm.) long, V notch backsight, bead foresight, overall length 10 5/8 in. (270 mm.) Box lock with side hammer, oval steel trigger guard. Finely chequered grip, steel butt cap with cap recess, shield shaped silver monogram plate, swivel ramrod carried in grooved rib under the barrel, belt hook screwed to L.H. side of lock. Mounts engraved with foliate scrolls. Fitted wooden case lined with green baize, accessories, powder flask, bullet mould, two cleaning rods.
