Summary

Petticoat - White Cotton and Flannel, circa 1910. Worn by patients in a mental health hospital in Victoria Australia. These petticoats were standard issue for women patients in Victorian Mental Hospitals until 1930.

Physical Description

Full-length petticoat. Top is of white cotton, opening down the back with 4 metal buttons. The skirt is bone-coloured flannel with broadly-spaced narrow blue stripes sewn onto the top. The opening continues down the back a further 17cm.
