Short paper with diagrams read to the Royal Society of New South Wales on 4 June 1890 by Lawrence Hargrave. In this paper Hargrave discusses his various experiments with what he called a 'vibratory flying machine', a model propellor aeroplane powered by compressed air. Three diagrams illustrate the model and Hargraves further work on a rotary engine design. This paper was formerly held in the library of the Melbourne Observatory.
