Description of Content

A woman and four children in party hats, sitting in front of a 'lit' birthday cake and table full of party food. The room is dark for the candles and illuminated by camera flash. The woman is holding a baby. This photograph shows a birthday celebration in the Dominiewski family, with the lights out and the birthday candles lit on the cake, Glenroy, 1963. Michele remembers that 'Every birthday was celebrated with a sponge cake topped with the wooden candle train. Because the parents had immigrated to Australia, no extended family attended these parties. It was just the parents and the kids.' Michele still has the wooden train.
