View at back of the old homestead on the property 'Willis Vale' during the depression. The property in Greensborough was established in 1839 and later acquired by the Partington family around the early 1870s. The property continued to function as a working farm up to this point and the orchard established by Robert Whatmough on the property in the 1870s and 1880s was still there, although the Partingtons had moved into dairy cattle. The orchard began to deteriorate from this time until its demise in the 1960s. William James Partington died in 1941 and Aunty Jess died in 2000 at 85.
