Listed in Eugene von Guerard's catalogue, vol.1, p.7. Acquired from Hamburger of Frankfurt. Von Guerard discusses the origin of this coin citing Eckel and Sambon (1863). BMC did list the type as Calabria uncertain but ANS agree with von Guerard citing Grose NC 1916. A previous note suggests the this item did not come from von Guerard and no earlier record of the piece has been found.
