Alternative Name(s): Button

This badge was made by Patrick Bros, in Melbourne and used around 1979. It was part of a collection of buttons assembled by the donor while active in left-wing politics at the University Melbourne, c 1979-86. At the time, New Zealand had one of the strongerst anti-nuclear campaigns in the area and the country was declared a nuclear-free zone in 1984. Activists in Australia were similarly campaigning for a complete ban on all nuclear activity. Palm Sunday rallies in the late seventies were events where hundreds of thousand of people gathered to protest use of nuclear power. This badge would have been used in a similar situation.
