    Tachylite (also spelled tachylyte) is a form of basaltic volcanic glass. The color is a black and it has a greasy-looking, resinous luster. The specimen has the appearance of pitchand is slightly vesicular and spherulitic. A massive, blue mineral has crystallized on parts of the specimen.
