General Description

Above: dark brown with orange patches, small pale-coloured patches along the edges. Below: forewing lighter brown with a few light orange patches and a white patch at the front edge; hindwing yellow with brown patches. Wingspan up to 4 cm.


Mountain Spotted Skipper caterpillars feed on saw-sedge grasses. They hide during the day in shelters formed by the grass blades.


South-eastern mainland Australia.
