Silver denarius struck during the reign of the Emperor Titus in the second half of 79 AD, Ancient Roman Empire. Minted by Rome. Titus' Tribunician year began on 1 July and he began his eighth Consulship on 1 Jan 80 AD. The production of this coin can therefore be put in the second half on 79 AD. The issue began with aureii bearing 14 Imperatorial acclamations (IMP XIIII on RIC.4) but this soon changed to IMP XV as on this coin, giving a rough date to that acclamation event.
