BDH, London pH comparator set and case. Commonly used in 20s and 30s before pH meters were available to measure the acidity/alkalinity of solutions. Sample and indicator solution are mixed in a tube and compared to standards - closest match of colour reveals the pH of unknown solution. This kit shows acidity. Physical Description

Wooden case, black, in two sections: top and bottom. Bottom section has windows through which to view the indicator solution. Inside case are slots for fourteen test tubes, currently housing nine test tubes.
