Wooden, velvet-lined box containing a series of silver and bronze weights and tweezers. Weights range from 200g to 0.01g. Used with Sartorius Werke, (Gottingen Germany) analytical balance. Analytical weights: As typically used until the advent of budget priced single pan balances in the 50s - 60s. Fractional weights were formed from aluminium or non-tarnishing metal in sheet or wire form and were handled with forceps provided in the sets. Used by Commonwealth Serum Laboratories (CSL) Limited , Parkville, Victoria.

Physical Description

Oblong wooden box, with brass catch and lined with velvet. Series of 18 weights inside, including 200g, 50g, 20g, 10g, 10g, 5g, 2g, 1g, 1g, 1g, 0.5g, 0.2g, 0.1g, 0.1g, 0.05g, 0.02g, 0.01g, 0.01g. Glass prism covers the slim silver weights. Plastic/Ivory-tipped tweezers.
