Within entwined scrollwork with oak leaves and circle of beads, ONE / QUARTER / ANNA / INDIA / 1862
The 1862 date on these coins is frozen until 1874. However the die type combination on this piece has been attributed to the period 1862 to 1865 after which a new Copper Mint was opened at Calcutta with dies from a different set of master tools.
