This glazed ornamental wall tile was manufactured by the Campbell Brick & Tile Co. in Stoke-on-Trent, England. It was created as a memorial to George Augustus Selwyn, the first Bishop of New Zealand. It was exhibited at the 1880 Melbourne International Exhibition.

Physical Description

The tile has a dark yellow background, with a black and brown boarder. Within this is a cross with text printed in black. Below the text is the Bishop's mitre also in black and a coat of arms consisting of two shields in blue and white.
