Pair of grey woollen felt spats with grey leather straps. Made in England.

Spats were worn partiuclarly in the late 19th - early 20th centuries as fashion accessories, for safety (keeping hazardous materials from falling into shoes) and with uniforms. They are still worn with some uniforms, including Scottish highland pipe bands and marching bands, as well as the military uniforms of some countries.

Physical Description

Grey woollen spats fastened with five grey buttons, and leather strap with buckle. Edges and seam reinforced inside with grey leather.
