The Benz 230 horsepower aero engine was developed by Benz & Cie in Mannheim, Germany in 1916. It has the standard configuration of Benz six cylinder, liquid-cooled aero engines which were made in a variety of power outputs including 180 horsepower units used on Pfalz and Albatros fighter aircraft. The 230 horsepower version was used mostly on German bomber and reconnaissance aircraft. Sectioned.
