Horse brass: Sun disc, geometric, rosette, domed. Point surrounded by concentric circles. Round border. Rear hanger. Type: stamped brass. Date: 1825-1939.

Item has a strap loop on back which has been soldered on.

Stamped brass were pressed out from rolled steel. This was a manual process from 1880-1900, and then machine stamping between 1900-1930s. With the introduction of petrol engines/vehicles, the production of horse brass ceased in the 1930s.
