Percussion pistol, belt. cal. 14 bore (.670 in.) muzzle loading, smooth bore, octagonal barrel 5 1/8 in. (130 mm) long, overall length 10 7/16 in. (265 mm).

Made by William Jones, London, circa 1830 (active 1812-1842).

Physical Description

U notch backsight, bead foresight, box lock with side hammer, oval steel trigger guard, steel screw in vent plug under nipple. Finely chequered wooden stock, piece broken out on left hand side, steel butt cap with cap recess, silver monogram plate, swivel ramrod carried in grooved rib under the barrel. Mounts engraved with foliate scrolls.
