Glass roux bottle designed to lie on its side, used by Commonwealth Serum Laboratories (CSL) Limited, Parkville, Victoria.
From 1943 til the 1950's hundreds or thousands were used to grow the penicillin mould in liquid medium. Handling so many bottles was extremely labour intensive.

Oblong clear glass bottle with rounded corners. Designed to lie on side. Press moulded.
