Medal awarded by the Wimmera District Pastoral & Agricultural Society to J. Best in 1873 as first prize for 'Colonial White Wine'. The obverse of the medal shows a horse, bull and sheep with farming hand tools and a wheat-sheaf. Joseph Best was a pioneer of Great Western wines.

A silver medal (46 mm diameter) struck from dies engraved by Julius Hogarth.It features a horse, bull and sheep with no attempt at scale p[lus farming hand-tools and a wheat-sheaf.The reverse gives details of the prize within a circular wreath of wheat and grapes.
