Other Details: This silver medal was struck by the Melbourne firm Stokes and Martin with a medal press they set up to demonstrate medal making at the 1872-73 Victorian Exhibition. The Exhibition was held 6 November 1872 - 8 January 1873.
A silver commemorative medal (22 mm diameter) featuring Julius Hogarth's aboriginal portrait and and Australian shield surmounted by a possum. This medal has been holed as part of the manufacturing process.
