Badge made by Bridgland & King, Melbourne, for the Federated Engine Drivers & Firemans Association of Australasia. A union concentrated in mines, factories and power plants, the Federated Engine Drivers' & Firemen's Association of Australasia has a long history dating back to local engine drivers unions on Australian goldfields. However it was not registered federally until 1908.

This badge was one of many collected over a fifteen year period during which Andrew Reeves undertook extensive research in the field of Trade Union Material Culture, and had extensive contact with the Trade Union movement Australia wide.
