'Black Ban' is an Australian term that means 'a mass refusal to supply or purchase goods or services in an attempt to force a particular decision or action.' In the 1970s the general anti-nuclear movement saw some factions moving their focus in more specific directions. The movement against uranium mining was an especially potent one in Australia, as the country is one of the biggest uranium exporters worldwide. Various organisations and moratorium campaigns were organising protests and trying to put pressure on the government in the mid to late 70s. The Uranium Moratorium rally of 1977 in Melbourne had 15.000 participants. This badge was probably used in a similar demonstration.
