Booklet titled 'Wartime Vegetable Growing at Home', issued in 1943 by the Department of Agriculture, Victoria, and written by officers of the Horticultural Division. Intended for the home gardener, it includes planting guides, and 1-2 paragraphs on various vegetables. General gardening advice is also offered.

Home vegetable gardens were part of the Melbourne's urban landscape during World War II. They provided food in a time of shortages and rationing, and were seen as patriotic work in support of the war effort.
