Medical Thermometer, circa 1930. It was used to monitor temperature of patients at a mental health hospital in Victoria, Australia. This thermometer is an example of the medical equipment used in psychiatric hospitals in Victoria, Australia.

Physical Description

Clinical thermometer is broad and flat, narrowing at one end to a neck, surmounted by an oval bulk and at the other end into a narrow tube 4cm long, at the end of which is the mercury. It is in a silver-plated, flattened cigar-shape case with a top that slides off one end. The top has a tiny slit in each side. Case is discoloured on lower half where silver has worn off.
