Large female bust carved from wood. Created by a patient at Mayday Hills Hospital, a mental health hospital in Beechworth, Victoria, Australia circa 1954-1980. It is an example of the artworks created by patients in occupational therapy programs in mental health hospitals in Victoria.

Physical Description

Large head carved from a log of wood. Head has rounded hair, parted in the centre and curled eyebrowns. Inscriptions in red and blue ballpoint pen cover eyebrows, eyes, lips and a border around base.
