Crossing the Equator Certificate issued to passenger's travelling on the Sitmar Line ship MV Fairsea on 2 August 1949. It was collected by Lou (Lajos) Bartha when he immigrated to Australia from Hungary on the MV Fairsea in 1949.

Physical Description

Colourful rectangular certificate issued to passengers on the passenger liner M/V FAIR SEA for crossing the Equator. A large picture of the Roman God Neptune riding a group of sea horses decorates the top half of the certificate, while a silhouette of the ship crossing the Equator decorates the bottom half. The certificate has been folded into four, and stamped in the bottom righthand corner.
