Cotton Restraining Device made circa 1985. This restraining device was made in the Mont Park Sewing Room, a mental health hospital in Bundoora, Victoria. It is an example of restraining equipment and possibly occupational therapy carried out in mental health hospitals in Victoria, Australia.

Physical Description

Restraint garment consisting of a vest with a cross over tie at the bottom hem. It is made from cream cotton with a horizontal blue stripe. The tie is made from a different cream fabric. A white paper adhesive label has been attached to the rear centre of the garment it has text handwritten in blue ink.
