This rectangular sail made from pandanus is the type that was made to use on the lippa lippa, a large wooden dugout canoe. Its shape resembles the sails on Macassan praus that came annually to the Arnhem Land coasts in large fleets to harvest trepang or beche de mer (commonly known as a "sea cucumber").
