Black and white film negative of the Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd factory at Abbotsford, oblique view from across the Yarra River. This image was taken slightly further along the riverbank than MM 137968 and MM 137969. It shows the trees along the river bank beyond that, the factory complex with multistorey buildings, chimney stacks and, to the right, the factory gardens with seating and trees.
This is one of 6 cellulose negatives contained within a box. 11 negatives in total (5 glass plates and 6 cellulose acetate negatives in glassine bags). Negatives all feature exterior views of the Abbotsford factory, and the box they came in was marked 'Mr Collins: Factory'.
This image is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment.
