Copy of a medal depicting Pier Candido Decembrio. The original medal by Pisanello was probably produced in 1447-1448. This two piece electrotype copy was made circa 1881 Robert Ready. It is thought that this electrotype was produced in association with an exhibition of medals in the King's Library in 1881 and was acquired by the National Gallery of Victoria where it was displayed probably from the late 1880s.The electrotype is copper plated and toned. The two sided lead cast original is now in the British Museum collection but was not collected till 1906 (1906,1103.139).
