Copy of a medal depicting Bianca Cappello de'Medici. The original medal by Pastorino de' Pastorini in 1579. This uniface electrotype copy was made circa 1881 by Robert Ready. This uniface electrotype copy was made circa 1881 at British Museum by Robert Ready from a lead medal from the collection of George III held by that museum (Reg: G3,TuscM.170). This electrotype is copper plated and toned. The original maedla formed part of an exhibition in the King's Library at the British Museum in 1881. The electrotype is believed to have been made in association with that exhibition and was acquired by the National Gallery of Victoria and displayed there in the late 1880's.
