Black and white photograph of a stretcher bearer and donkey at Gallipoli, Turkey during World War I. The stretcher bearer is unidentified, although the caption indicates that he was 'age 17 / Height 6 ft 2'.

The man in the photograph is sometimes identified (in other images) as John 'Jack' Simpson Kirkpatrick - 'the man with the donkey'. However, 'Simpson' was then aged 23, and 5'8" tall. After Simpson was killed on 19 May 1915 his donkey, named 'Duffy' or 'Murphy', was used for several weeks by Dick Henderson, then aged 19.
