Summary

This string bag has been created using a looping technique. The feathers have been spun into the string and the use of predominantly white feathers is contrasted with the inclusion of black and a few red and green feathers. It also has four string handles spun with white feathers.

Physical Description

A looped bag made with vegetable fibre string into which white and coloured feathers are spun. The four tied feathered string handles are attached to the rim on opposite edges of the bag.

Significance

Robyn often works in partnership with her co-wife, Garnbaladj Nabegeyo. Some of their collaborative pieces are feathered string bags, they also make similar open coiled baskets.
