Coiled saucepan basket by Doreen Nabulwad, in one colour of dyed yellow gold pandanus. The saucepan basket is not only about technical perfection of forms but about an eloquent sense of colour. The stiches are placed tight and close together, which intensifies the colour saturation. This basket has been close coiled and is a subtle statement of changing hues and textures. Its basic monochromatic form is in striking contrast to the many multi hued baskets from Gunbalunya.

Doreen Nabulwad's baskets are tightly coiled with an even surface, mostly in bowl and saucepan forms. She works with a smaller palette of dyed colours and her work was included in the 2003 exhibition 'Woven Form: Contemporary Basket Making in Australia' at Object Gallery in Sydney.
