This is one of 959 photographs (or images) of the Exhibition Building collated by the Exhibition Trustees as a 10 volume pictorial history of the Exhibition Building spanning the years 1880 to 1985. The pictorial history was instigated by the centenary of the Exhibition Building in 1980 and forms part of a larger Royal Exhibition Building collection of documents, photographs, objects and research files.

View of the 'Australia Exhibition' in the western nave of the Great Hall, Royal Exhibition Building during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting held at the Royal Exhibition Building in 1981. Two men can be seen in the Australian Indigenous displays, one standing next to an exhibit of Aboriginal pukumani poles, the other inspecting a photograph that is part of a display titled 'Weapons and Utensils', and includes woven bags and boomerangs.

Ten photographic albumbs maintained by the Exhibition Trustees' provide an invaluable visual record of the history, use, changes and restoration of the Exhibition Buildings prior to the building being recognised with a World Heritage Listing in 2004.
