This light brown ceramic ink well was excavated at Casselden Place in 2003.

Writing implements, found throughout Little Lon, indicate that writing was a commonplace activity. The pens, pencils and inkwells are a tantalizing reminder of words forgotten long ago.

Physical Description

This brown, saltglazed ink well is shaped like a penny ink well but with a slightly wider mouth. It also has two holes on either side of the shoulder that is presumably for holding pens.
