This salt glazed ceramic ink well was excavated at the Commonwealth Block site between 1988 and 2003. It is unmarked but the style and materials used suggests it was made at Bendigo Pottery.

Writing implements, found throughout Little Lon, indicate that writing was a commonplace activity. The pens, pencils and inkwells are a tantalizing reminder of words forgotten long ago.
