This small, brown glazed ceramic bottle was excavated at the Commonwealth Block site between 1988 and 2003. It would have been used to store ink.

Writing implements, found throughout Little Lon, indicate that writing was a commonplace activity. The pens, pencils and inkwells are a tantalizing reminder of words forgotten long ago.

Physical Description

This is a small brown glazed ceramic bottle which has a round lip and a narrow neck with square shoulders and a round body. There is a chip near the base.
