Summary

Black and white photograph of the 'Brownie Flash II' retail shop window display in what appears to be the Kodak building on Queen St, Brisbane, circa 1958 - when this camera model was first released. There is a giant model Brownie Flash II Box camera with large flash attachment in the centre of the display alongside a large poster of a domestic family scene which reads: 'It's always picture time with Kodak's world-famous Brownie Flash II and Flasholder'.

This is a new window display arrangement, where the one large display window and side entrance has been reconfigured to smaller, discreet displays and a more inviting entrance.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This print is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
