Crowd of people behind a fence during the 1934 MacRobertson Centenary Air Race from England to Australia. American aviator Roscoe Turner in cap and breeches appears to be signing an autograph for a young boy. Turner and Clyde Pangborn came third in the race in their Boeing 247 aeroplane now held in the collection of the National Air & Space Museum in Washington DC. Image believed to have been taken at Laverton RAAF Base near Melbourne.
