Summary

This object was made by a small girl from the edible part of the root of a waterlily. The waterlily roots and the seeds of the flower were ground to make a flour or meal that was made into cakes and cooked.

Physical Description

A toy made of fibre with three "flowers" extending from a single stem.

Significance

The technique used to make this toy is complex. Donald Thomson wrote that it was an "old fashioned technique", and no other example of this technique or toy is known to exist.
