View of south of the security fence and Biggs Road featuring the multi-storey section of Building 2, Emulsion Making. The building has reached the penthouse level, with service and elevator rooms being erected at this level. The single-storey east and west wings appear near completion externally. Outside of the security fence, earthworks are underway for future buildings (towards the west; Building 12 Engineering Workshops, Building 13 Paper Finishing, Building 14 Garage, Building 15 Cameras Reels & Sundries).

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as, film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This photograph is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005 after the manufacturing plant at Coburg had closed down the year before.

Description of Content

This is a landscape view of a building site under construction. A boundary fence is evident surrounding the secure building site with construction of Building 2 Emulsion Making underway to the south, and earthworks for future buildings underway outside of the security fence. Builders' huts and machinery are shown located around sealed roads, with Edgar's Creek valley, open farmland and resident housing in the distance.
