Photograph taken at the 2003 Yarram Women on Farms Gathering depicting a handover ceremony. The handover ceremony is customary to all Victorian Women on Farms Gatherings and is held at the end of the Sunday proceeds. The purpose of this ceremony is to draw the Gathering to a close and to pass over the duties to the following year's Gathering committee. The basket usually contains blank plastic name tags so that the following year's Gathering group doesn't need to purchase new ones. Once all the accounts have been paid the current Gathering committee customarily hands over a sum of money to the next committee in order to start the next year's Gathering funds off.
