Anacardone - trade name, for nikethamide, circa 1949. Made by British Drug Houses Ltd. Comes from pharmacy of a Victorian psychiatric hospital. It was primarily used as a counter measure for tranquiliser overdose. Administered by injection. Stimulates respiratory centres in acute respiratory failure, acute pulmonary oedema, angina pectoris and general conditions of extreme fatigue.
