Original Anemometer observations from Melbourne Observatory, of 9:44am 31 December 1911 to 9:43am 1 January 1912. Anemographs measure wind speed and velocity. These measurements were, and remain, vital to navigation. Meteorological Observations were a key responsibility of the Melbourne Observatory before the Commonwealth Bureau of Meteorology started operations in 1908.
