Lantern slide depicting a devestated battlefield at Mouquet Farm, near Pozieres, in October 1916. It is identified as a 'scene of severe trench warfare', eventally becoming part of 'no man's land'.

The Battle of Mouquet Farm began on 5 August 1916, during the Battle of the Somme. The Farm was eventually captured on 26 September, at a cost of over 10,700 casualties from the 1st, 2nd and 4th Australian divisions. The lantern slide depicts the site soon after the battle ended.
