Forage cap with gold lace band and exploding grenade badge. Made by A. Bowley and Co in Melbourne. Worn by a soldier in the Victorian Engineers, circa 1893.

Physical Description

Navy blue broadcloth. Stiffened crown with peak of black leather. Bullion button on top of crown. Gold braid band around base of crown with exploding grenade badge at front. Tan leather lining around inside crown, with quilted red satin lining at top of crown. Underside of peak green leather.
