Physical Description

Scarlet broadcloth, nine brass buttons down front, each bearing insignia. Bullion on epaulettes; caught at neck with two brass buttons; stand collar, faced on outside with black velvet inset and gold brocade ribbon, each with bullion strip. Exploding grenade insignia on each side of collar. Bullion work on sleeves; black velvet cuffs. Edging of jacket in black velvet and at back. Quilted sateen lining on body of jacket; skirt is faced with wool flannel.
