Earthenware filter pad holder. A circle of depth filder pad is clamped between two grooved earthenware plates. Solution to be clarified goes in one plate and comes out the other. Period probably 1920s. Superseded by metal holders. Used by Commonwealth Serum Laboratories (CSL) Limited, Parkville, Victoria.

Physical Description

Cylindrical shape made up of two white ceramic plates clamped together with circular silver metal structure and eight wingnuts through grooves in the outside of plates. Centre of both plates have holes with red rubber pieces clamped on with copper wire.
